Miss Universe Malta Jade Cini calls for prayers as father Reggie Cini's health is at risk

“Family is the only thing you don’t get to choose in life and I think it’s meant to be that way, but blood is thicker than water and loyalty is something I cherish a lot.” These were the words of Miss Universe Malta Jade Cini as she called for prayers for her father Reginald Cini’s health, which is unfortunately at risk.

Reginald, better known as Reggie Cini, is one of the more popular goalkeepers in Malta’s football history, who also formed part of the Maltese national team at one point. The model took to Facebook to share that, despite their ‘turbulent relationship and differences,’ she chooses to stand by him in the worst of times because that is family.

The post received hundreds of comments wishing Cini well, garnering over 1,000 likes and 400 comments. His daughter shared that “things don’t seem promising, but [she] has faith in a fighter like [him].”

20-year-old Aquilina was charged with the rape and murder of Paulina Dembska who was found dead on the morning of 2nd January at Independence Gardens, Sliema. Suspect has pleaded not guilty as his mother watched the court proceedings in grief.

Having been released from Mount Carmel Hospital, interrogations had to be halted to his admission to the institution. Police chief spokesperson Brandon Pisani told journalists that the murder took place at around 5:15 am.

Investigations have shown that this case was not pre-meditated and there was no specific target.

Avril Lavigne rocks Maltese Charles&Ron leather Carina Gloves

As if being spotted on Ariana Grande wasn’t enough, local brand’s Charles&Ron ‘Carina Gloves’ have just been donned by punk princess Avril Lavigne.

Modelling for a feature on Harper’s Bazaar VN, the artist rocked the gloves designed by the local duo in a brown iteration.

Back in November of 2021, Ariana Grande uploaded Instagram photos with black leather gloves by the local designers. The upload was a huge step for local fashion and it took news portals by storm.

This time around, it seems as though Avril Lavigne is pushing the brand further into the celebrity world. This is not the first time Charles & Ron have had had their work worn by popular names – with Paula Abdul and Ashanti being among some of these names.

This just goes to show the quality and appeal Maltese designs have beyond our shores, being chosen by iconic sensations all around the globe.
