Miriam Dalli urges employers to help parents with teleworking methods

Following the recent announcement of what is being called a ‘quasi-lockdown’, with schools going online as from tomorrow, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development Miriam Dalli took to Facebook to publish an appeal on the matter.

Dalli called upon parents and employers to utilise teleworking when possible, and for employers to provide alternative methods to facilitate parents with the monitoring of their children.

The minister closed off by calling for public co-operation and collaboration so that we as a nation can escape this situation as soon as possible.

Contact tracing reportedly 9 days behind schedule

COVID-19 contact tracing is reportedly 9 days behind on cases as case management and the respective units are overwhelmed with work, The Malta Independent on Sunday has reported.

Workers in the sector have told the Malta Independent that they are “drained and tired”, with the prolonged waiting time contrasting Health Minister Chris Fearne’s previous claims contact within 24 hours for positive COVID-19 cases and 4 days for contacts of the case.

Malta currently stands at 3,144 active COVID-19 cases out of the total 26,267 cases.

Bugeja and the national team have had a groundbreaking year in sport as the team have set a number of records whilst Haley Bugeja has racked up quite a number of acclaims over the past year.

The Women’s Football branch of the Malta Football Association took to Facebook to congratulate their players, along with men’s national team coach Devis Mangia who won Coach of the year.

Metsola & family close off hectic week celebrating sons’ birthdays

Political powerhouse and European Parliament Vice President Roberta Metsola’s time-management skills never ceases to impress us as she took to Facebook to close off another busy week-in-the-life celebrating her sons’ 14th and 9th birthday with her family.

The VP signed off with the hashtag ‘Mamas in Politics’ as tributes poured in praising Metsola’s determination and capability in successfully balancing family life and politics.

Somehow, with everything that went on this week, we managed to squeeze in enough time to celebrate our eldest turning 14…
