Millennials have often been stereotyped as lazy, seeking simplicity in life, and struggling to afford homes due to costly trends. However, this perception is poised to shift dramatically as millennials are projected to become the wealthiest generation yet.
Individuals born between the early 1980s and the mid-to-late 1990s are poised to experience a significant financial boom in the coming two decades, due to the substantial property assets amassed by previous generations.
The Guardian reported that real estate agents Knight Franks in its 18th annual wealth report stated that approximately $90 trillion worth of assets will be transferred from generation to generation in the United States of America. The report goes on to say that this will make “affluent millennials the richest generation in history.”
This news might be surprising for many millennials who’ve faced tough times, like the 2008 financial crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic, and ongoing conflicts like the one in Ukraine. But despite these challenges, they could end up with more money than any generation before them.
