The European Space Agency (ESA) announced on Wednesday that Cristoforetti will take over from fellow Expedition 67 crew member Oleg Artemyev on the 28th of September.

She will thus become the fifth European commander of the ISS and the first European woman to hold such a position. In their chat, with Metsola on Earth and AstroSam, as she is known, up in space, the two women engaged in conversation about various topics.

Cristoforetti explained to Metsola what projects she was working on whilst taking on this position and what impact they could have back on Earth in various domains, as well as how a day out in space is spent by Cristoforetti and her team.

Man found guilty after trying to push girlfriend off wall during argument

Man found guilty after trying to push girlfriend off wall during argument

A 27-year-old man was placed under probation order after he was deemed guilty of beating his partner in an argument. The man was charged by Inspector Audrey Micallef for causing grievous injuries and threatening his partner two years ago in February in Birzebbuga.

The woman testified at the time that they were in a relationship and that during the argument, he had threatened to kill her and threatened her family. The man started hitting her after she tried to take a ring, smashing her head against the ground, punching her in the face and trying to throw her off a wall and choking her.

The woman managed to escape and locked herself at home. She later went to the health clinic and was subsequently sent to hospital. The police were also informed.

The man testified that it was the woman who tried to kick him and push him off the wall, and that he tried to push back in defence. He also claimed she attempted to bit him. When he pushed her again she reportedly fell and hit her head on the central strip. He fled the scene as he saw her get up.

After both sides were heard, Magistrate Gabriella Vella said there was a difference between the statement which the man gave to the Police and the testimony given about when the argument started. She said that she was doubtful about how much he tried to defend himself and said the accused had no reason to be so aggressive in his response.

Finding him guilty, he was also found to have suffered a trauma in the past, clearly had a drug addiction and had an anger management problem. The magistrate noted how the woman had forgiven him.

He was placed under a probation order for three years, issued a treatment order for the same period of time and warned him that he would be fined €500 if he harasses his ex-girlfriend or her family. The names of the accused and the victim were not published to protect their identity.

TikTok star Khaby Lame reportedly makes €750,000 from every post

TikTok star Khaby Lame reportedly makes €750,000 from every post
Sep 15 2022 Share

People are, rightfully, losing their minds over how much money TikTok star Khaby Lame makes from every post uploaded to the popular platform.

According to a new report from financial outlet Fortune, the content creator could be racking upwards of $750,000 per TikTok post.

Hugo Boss, a publicly traded fashion brand, recently paid Lame $450,000 to walk in their Milan Fashion Week show with a TikTok video thrown into the mix.

Meanwhile, a major Hollywood studio also paid Lame $750,000 for one TikTok, according to a contract viewed by Fortune. If this is correct, the most followed TikToker is making this money off of simply reacting to other creators’ videos without uttering a word.

In a recent interview, Lame spoke briefly about what motivates him to follow his dreams. His manager Alessandro Riggio told Fortune that his superstar client is on track to make $10 million this year, but his actual focus is making people laugh and entertaining them.

Another dream of his is to win an Oscar, after he expressed interest in becoming an actor. He is also working on learning English properly, working for an hour with a tutor everyday.

TikTok app crashes due to mysterious bug

Sep 15 2022 Share

The TikTok app has reportedly crashed due to a mysterious bug that is yet to be identified. Countless users of the app have gone to other social media platforms and websites such as Down Detector to voice their frustration and concern over the sudden crash.

The majority of users are reporting that the app is crashing or suddenly closing down whilst being in use. There are also some reports claiming that the app isn’t even opening for them anymore.

TikTok has taken the world by storm these last couple of years and the love for the app is clear from some, with one user commenting “Me realising my life evolves around TikTok now it’s down #tiktokdown” and another saying “the way i RAN to twitter to see if TikTok was down for everyone else too”

Some news outlets such as popular British tabloid the Sun have reported that the issue might be because of the new iOS 16 though neither Apple nor TikTok have confirmed yet.

Currently, TikTok have not come out and confirmed what the issue causing the crashes is or even whether there is any outage or issue with the app itself. It does however seem that the desktop version of the app is still up and running and working well.
