Lionel Messi opened Paris Saint-Germain’s score against Nice in Ligue 1, making it his 702nd club goal in Europe.

And that means that, yes, the Argentine player has officially usurped long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally of 701 goals, with Messi having achieved it despite playing 105 fewer matches than Ronaldo.

Messi’s goal 26-minutes in was his 14th in the league, and he has 13 goal assists to couple with that.

According to Fox Sports, Messi now has over 1,000 goal contributions at the club level with 702 goals and 298 assists. This means that Messi was directly involved in more goals than anyone else so far in the league.

This comes as speculation spreads about a potential deal by Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal worth $440 million per year as well as Barcelona and Inter Miami CF for the world class player.

Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri took to social media to condemn a prank call which forced authorities to waste resources on an alleged corpse found in a St Julian’s hotel.

‘I emphasise that this is no way to joke’ Camilleri said, ‘and that this emergency number should only be used for real cases. I am informed that the police will be investigating this irresponsible act.’

Some media outlets also reported that a dead body had been found in a hotel, having heard the disinformation as well. However, when the true nature of the case became apparent, the light shifted on the importance of not joking with such crucial public services and resources.

Commenters on Camilleri’s post also backed up the decision to investigate, with some even suggesting jail time for the prank.

Easter is a time of celebration and reflection, and for many brands, it’s an opportunity to showcase their products and services through advertising campaigns.

Over the years, there have been many historic Easter adverts that have captured the spirit of the season and provided a glimpse into the past.

Whether it was IKEA’s ‘Do-it-yourself’ Easter Bunny campaign or Durex’s sexually educational Easter X campaign, these brands went full force into promoting their respective products during this celebratory time of year.

Or what about Deliveroo’s celebration of Easter and the final season of Game of Thrones with ‘chocolate Dragon eggs?’ And then there was Carlsberg, who built a fully functional beer bar made entirely out of chocolate!

With more time on their hands due to the holidays, people’s eyes would turn much easier towards what they deem is their money’s worth. And what better way to do so than by celebrating alongside your customers with a twist of your own!

These are some of our favourites.
