‘BREAKING: Lionel Messi has won his 8th Ballon D’Or, Dario Sport has revealed. No official and formal confirmation yet but once again, clear indication from Spanish media…’

Further leaks have also suggested Messi’s achievement, and if this is true, it would be the first time the award would be awarded to someone who plays outside of Europe.

This comes after Messi joined Inter Miami in July after having moved from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ballon D’Or 2023 raised eyebrows after Cristiano Ronaldo was not nominated, making it the first time the player was not on the list in about 20 years.

Pro-Palestine Protest Takes To Valletta’s Streets

Pro-Palestine Protest Takes To Valletta's Streets

A demonstration in support of Palestine, led by Moviment Graffitti and several other local activists, took to Valletta’s streets, calling for an end to the bombardment currently taking place in Gaza.

Along with the Embassy for Palestine, activists called on Western countries, including European institutions and figures, to ‘stop taking the side of the oppressor and condemn unequivocally the genocide in Gaza’ and to ‘sanction Israel for its war crimes and colonialism.’

With Palestinian flags and placards reading ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Stop Bombing Gaza’, the crowd was addressed by Palestinian locals who shared how their families back home were being massacred.

This comes after European Parliament President Roberta Metsola’s visit to Israel along with European Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen.

The response by the world leaders was met with mixed feelings, with many urging them to work harder to stop the genocide in Gaza and to condemn Israel’s actions.

Metsola and other EU leaders and institutions condemned the terrorist attacks by Hamas and, expressing solidarity with Israel, said that they will be working towards a ‘fair two-state solution’ and that ‘humanitarian aid reaches those in need, that civilians are not targeted and that safe corridors are maintained.’

What do you think?
