Upon his long-awaited arrival in Malta, Pope Francis was welcomed by Prime Minister Robert Abela, President George Vella, state dignitaries and a number of other individuals, but those who truly stood out were the two young children with flowers.
The children, who welcomed the Pope to Malta with open arms are 8-year-old Sam Pisani Bonello, who was diagnosed with epilepsy four years ago and 6-year-old Amy Lyons, who recovered from leukaemia under the treatment of Dr. Victor Calvagna. Calvagna sadly died in an accident towards the beginning of 2022.
At the airport, Amy was seen wearing a Puttinu Cares shirt to represent the children who found support and assistance in Puttinu Cares over the years. She will be participating in the Puttinu Cares Marathon on Good Friday, which will be broadcast on all television stations.
Don’t forget to tune in to the marathon!
