Significant progress has been made on the Qui-Si-Sana promenade in Sliema, with 90% of the intensive work now complete. The project, managed by the Public Works Department, has entered its final phase after a busy summer of repair and restoration efforts.

The promenade, a popular spot for both locals and tourists, has suffered extensive damage over the years due to its close proximity to the sea. The ongoing works aim to restore both its safety and aesthetic appeal, ensuring it remains a vibrant part of Sliema’s picturesque landscape.

During a recent visit to the site, Parliamentary Secretary Omar Farrugia stressed the importance of maintaining Malta’s public spaces year-round, emphasizing how these works contribute to the well-being and quality of life for all Maltese and Gozitan residents.

Sliema Mayor John Pillow echoed these sentiments, noting the significance of the repairs not just for the area’s appearance, but for the safety of those who frequent it.

The project includes repairs to the promenade’s structural framework and the application of marine-grade paint to safeguard against the coastal elements. Completion is expected in the coming weeks.
