Medieval Mdina Is Back For Its 13th Edition This Weekend

Medieval Mdina returns for its 13th edition, celebrating the timeless charm of the Silent City.

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government, Alison Zerafa Civelli, along with Mdina Mayor Peter Dei Conti Sant Manduca and other councillors, announced that this year’s edition will take place on Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May.

The weekend promises a variety of activities, including medieval-themed plays, live music, fireworks, historical re-enactments, and a traditional medieval market.

“Saturday is not to be missed, as it will feature a torchlit walk through the streets of Mdina. This unique experience will allow attendees to step back in time and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of medieval life,” said the Parliamentary Secretary.

She also expressed her gratitude to the Mdina Local Council for its ongoing commitment in organising this much-loved annual event.

Mayor Peter Dei Conti Sant Manduca added that a Park and Ride service will be available from Triq l-Infetti.

The Armed Forces of Malta took to social media to share more stunning shots of the Italian Navy tall ship Amerigo Vespucci as it exited the Grand Harbour, accompanied by some of the AFM’s own assets.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel P71 and Agusta Westland 139 helicopter accompanied the ship out of the harbour following the three day visit to Malta, which gave the opportunity to locals to visit the ship.

The visit also continued to strengthen the close relations between the two respective military forces.

In her latest video, which racked up over 22K views on the platform, she taught basic words like bonġu (good morning), il-lejla t-tajba (good evening), il-lejl it-tajjeb (goodnight), iva and le (yes and no), and grazzi (thank you), with her daughter saying the Maltese phrases herself.

Kate has been creating similar videos, teaching basic phrases and words in the Maltese language to her over 6,000 followers.

Local photographer and artist Lorella Castillo took to social media to share a stunning shot she captured of the Italian Marina Militare’s Amerigo Vespucci sailing out of Malta’s Grand Harbour.

Soaring in the sky is an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter as an onlooker wearing a three pointed hat looks on at the scene.

The ‘most beautiful ship in the world’ was docked at the Valletta Cruise Port, offering locals a chance to visit the vessel. It also welcomed aboard some local political figures, including Acting President Anġlu Farrugia and Valletta Mayor Olaf McKay.
