Maxine Pace Becomes First Woman To Win Mużika Mużika

Maxine Pace has become the first ever woman to win the prestigious Mużika Mużika festival with her song Mhux Tal-Aħħar which reflects about the themes of grief and loss as a tribute to her late mother.

Last night, “Mhux Tal-Aħħar” secured 106 points, earning the top spot. Kantera’s “Vjaġġ Sabiħ” came in second with 90 points, while Cliff Zammit Stevens’ “Fil-Qrib” placed third with 83 points.


This was the fourth edition of Mużika Mużika with the first ever winner being Glenn Vella with “Ħarsa Biss” back in 2021. The 2022 edition was won by Kurt Calleja whilst 2023 was won by renowned Maltese artist Gianluca Bezzina.

Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici was present at the festival sharing a photo with the night’s winner Maxine Pace and the beautiful trophy given to her created by Carisma.

In a short story uploaded to Instagram, Maltese singer and songwriter Shaun Farrugia teased another song with international DJ Martin Garrix.

This is not the first time the two have collaborated, releasing the likes of ‘Starlight (Keep Me Afloat)’ and ‘If We’ll Ever Be Remembered’.

The DJ had even blasted Shaun’s voice off the Empire State Building in a gig, bringing the two artists closer together as collaborators.

We’ll have to see what the two come out with now – in the meantime, you can always revisit their tunes on streaming platforms!

Melita FC are celebrating their promotion to Premier League as they manage to rank at the top of the table with four games to spare.

Posting to social media, the team shared a celebratory video as well as a post congratulating Żabbar St Patrick for their promotion alongside them.

This comes after Melita FC beat Senglea Athletic 1-0.

‘With both of us securing promotion with an impressive four games left to play today, we have matched each other stride for stride in the Top Six, constantly pushing each other to these new heights with five wins and one draw against other!’

If you made your way to St Julian’s yesterday to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with your friends and couple of beers, then you might have spotted a couple of large leprechauns enjoying their time with the massive crowd!

Videos sent to this newsroom show two persons dressed as the iconic fairy tale creature associated with the feast and Irish folklore.

The leprechauns jumped and danced around with the crowd, making sure to spread some more positive vibes with the partying crowd.
