Maximum public gathering limited to two persons as from Wednesday

It has been announced that from Wednesday, people are not to gather in public groups of more than two persons, unless living in the same household.

The Health Authorities had advised that the previous limit of four persons in public spaces had to be decreased to two over the Easter period to mitigate spread of the virus over the holiday period.

Saturday evening was a history-defining night for Maltese football as the whole country watched the national team put on a marvellous showing with a 2-2 result against Slovakia for the World Cup Group H Qualifiers.

Malta’s first goal was scored in the 16th minute by Luke Gambin with a pass from Joseph Mbong, with the second being a header from Alex Satariano, which sent Maltese football fans into a frenzy.

After a banner with the word mafia was left outside the Times of Malta offices last night, civil society group Repubblika disassociated itself from the incident.

A banner placed in front of the Times of Malta headquarters read ‘Times of Mafia’ in the same typography as the logo started to spread around social media. Despite having carried out similar actions by leaving banners related to the Daphne Caruana Galizia justice campaign, Repubblika has disassociated itself from this particular act.

Taking to Facebook, they stated that this was not their action. They continued by saying that when using the word mafia, they apply it to criminals and not the victims.
