Marsa Junction going green with 18,000 trees

Feb 24 2021 Share
As part of the project to enrich the Marsa Junction’s appearance, 18,000 trees will be introduced to the scenery.

Infrastructure Malta will be taking up this feat as one of its many plans, with Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg explaining that the environmental aspect of the junction is an utmost priority.

Hoping that the project will reduce traffic congestion, Parliament Secretary Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi stated how it required up to 52 Million Euros from European funds. Thus, residents of southern areas need not worry about travel, as the ‘game-changer’ project will alter alternative and mass transport use as well.

Fate of Bars to be Determined by End of the Week

Feb 24 2021 Share

As the legal expiration date on the notice of bars looms closer, Minister of Tourism Clayton Bartolo claimed that the decision will be made by week’s end.

With bars closed since October, the original date of reopening was constantly moved from the initial December 1st so as to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

With the popular St Patrick’s day just around the corner, bar owners are still being held in the dark about whether or not their businesses will be able to provide customers their service.
