Marine biologist Alan Deidun took to social media to warn agains the siphonophore – a dangerous snake-like creature which is a close relative of the Portuguese man o’ war jellyfish.
Deidun explained that these creatures are most common in Maltese waters at this time of year.
The creature looks like a long snake, but is actually a colony of little of organisms which are packing quite the sting!
With the scientific name Forskalea edwardsii, these critters are better left untouched!
