Maneskin release their latest music video for ‘MAMMAMIA’

Maneskin release their latest music video for ‘MAMMAMIA’
Oct 20 2021 Share

The wait is finally over as 2021’s Eurovision winners Maneskin release their music video for ‘MAMMAMIA’. And the concept? Well, band members Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio fantasise about killing frontman Damiano David because he’s annoying. He is even murdered different ways, with Ethan plunging Damiano’s head in a toilet and Victoria stabbing him repeatedly after he catches her getting physical with another woman.

The three-minute music video is bursting with libido, rhythm and murder, with director Spanish film director Rei Nadal having worked on fashion films for brands such as Nike x OFF-WHITE. With the words ‘Rest In Piss’ splattered on the wall, the music video keeps up with Maneskin’s iconic look and vibe. The Italian band made waves after their Eurovision success, their music going international almost overnight.

A facility in Huerta de Valdecarábanos, Toledo, Spain, spanned around 120,000 square metres and was supposedly being used to grow hemp for industrial use. However, the zone which is approximately the size of 16 standard football fields, was discovered to be growing Cannabis sativa. Police officers from the Civil Guard inspected the farm and found the plant, genetically modified to look like legal hemp. Upon return, officers seized a whopping 135,000 marijuana plants – the largest seizure ever made in Europe.

With three arrests, a further 30 tonnes of dried marijuana and 3,720kg of buds were intercepted in nearby warehouses which were ready for distribution. Another 112kg of buds which were declared to be simply plants were been seized at Madrid’s main airport. A civil guard spokesperson revealed that the workers at the farm were mostly foreigners, employed in an unofficial manner and housed in an area which did not meet the most minimal conditions of habitability.

How well are Malta’s domestic animals protected?

How well are Malta's domestic animals protected?

On October 13, Anthony Vella was given a 2-year prison sentence suspended for four years and a €20,000 fine for keeping around 50 dogs in an unacceptable state in his Zejtun home. Beyond the fine and the suspended prison sentence, the dogs in Vella’s residence were released and immediately fell under the custody of the Animal Welfare Directorate.

The case, dating back to May 2018, also revealed that some dogs were being kept in cages in the man’s garage, triggering a national discussion on animal welfare in Malta. Minister for Justice and Governance Edward Zammit Lewis took to Facebook to condemn such acts and highlight the importance of the recent legal amendments affecting animal abusers.

Being a dog owner and animal lover himself, Zammit Lewis shared his sentiments attached to a photo which included his dog, Charlie. The Minister called upon the public to show love to each and every animal because our treatment of animals reflects on ourselves.

In 2021, the Minister for Justice, together with the Minister for Agriculture Anton Refalo and Commissioner for Animal Welfare Alison Bezzina put forward a legal amendment which prohibited animal abusers from owning or being in the same household as an abused animal, even if it is not the same animal which was abused. The amendment came as a breath of fresh after multiple calls for increased laws protecting animals and speaks volumes about the commitment to Malta’s animal population.

Are you aware of the current laws protecting animals?

The workout videos Smith posts seem intense as he flips tires and does heavy-weight back squats. ‘No more midnight muffins…this is it!’ The actor also announced that he is documenting his transformation with YouTube through a partnership for a new original series premiering next year.
