The United Journal posted to Twitter stating that world renowned Manchester United are due to play a friendly match in Malta. The date is currently pencilled in for August 3rd, but the game could occur behind closed doors. Further information is yet to be disclosed, but the Twitter post did instigate a couple of comments urging Maltese authorities to open up clubs and stadiums in anticipation of the match.

Malta had already signed as the official destination partner for the famous football club in 2019. The agreement was set to run for three years, which therefore includes 2021. The team had already made several appearances in Malta, with their last visit being in 2000 when the team came over for a training camp and played a friendly game against Birkirkara. Games were played in 1967 against Hibernians, 1961 against a Maltese XI selection and 1987 against Naxxar Lions.

Adrian stated that ‘Julian stuck this on the cork board at his desk and often referred back to it when he was later questioning whether he was in the right course.’ His father stated that this list ‘serves as an inspiration to other young people considering the legal profession.’

Adrian also shared the late teenager’s rules for life last month. He pointed out how Julian wrote them 3 years ago. Adrian goes on to state how ‘for [his family] this seems more like a list of instructions he left for [them] on how to survive without him – particularly his last rule (no.13).’ The reasons and rules show the young student’s determination and aspiration for life, and are sure to serve as inspiration for all who read them.

Charmaine Guaci states latest measures eased were riskiest health restrictions

195 COVID-19 cases registered with 5 recoveries
Jun 14 2021 Share

Speaking on TVAM, Superintendent for Public Health Charmaine Gauci stated that abiding to COVID-19 health restrictions is vital to maintain the progress achieved so far – which is keeping institutions and entities which opened recently open. She also stated that the latest measures eased were among the riskiest restrictions to drop, with authorities being stretched further to maintain control. An increase in numbers is risky, she stated, especially when reopening happens too quick.

She acknowledged the incoming tourists and that this prompted the reopening for summer 2021. Apart from this, Professor Gauci stated that there will be those who act irresponsibly and urged the public to abide by the health restrictions as much as possible. Speaking about the vaccine certificates, the Superintendent stated that work is being done to settle the Maltese vaccine certificate’s recognition abroad throughout the EU.
