Nationalist Party MP Alex Borg took to social media to share footage he received which seems to show an altercation occurring in Marsalforn, Gozo.

The MP wrote how the local police are always trying to keep the peace without resources and yet have to deal with intense situations all the time.

‘Businesses are scared that they’ll be next that after a lot of thought and sacrifice to start their enterprise they’ll find someone who will destroy their property and reputation.’

‘Can we go on like this’, asked Borg. ‘When will concrete action be taken? We need to give adequate resources to the police so that families and good people can feel comfortable in Marsalforn.’

He called on stakeholders, local councils, business owners, the police as well as representatives from the government and the opposition to sit down and find solutions.

This is not the first time that MP Alex Borg drew attention to the issues faced in Marsalforn as well as the lack of resources police have.

Journalists Now Offered Free Psychological Support

With the support of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation, SOS Malta has launched a new initiative which offers free psychological support for journalists who need it.

Through Kellimni.com, seven psychologists have been vetted and trained by media experts specifically on the kind of support that journalists would require.

With no charge for the service, journalists would have to simply contact the psychologists through Kellimnni.com, anonymously if they wish, to receive the support they need.

The idea for the project was born from a seminar that the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation hosted with Repubblika, on free speech and the protection of journalists, which was organised with the support of the US Embassy Valletta, Malta.
