Brazil smash South Korea to qualify for quarter finals

Dec 5 2022 Share

Brazil have easily beaten South Korea with a score of 4-1 to progress to the next round of the World Cup.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr managed to score the game’s first goal with a beautiful curling shot for Brazil, early on in the 7th minute.

It only took Brazil four minutes to find another goal, this time through a calm and collected penalty taken by Brazilian talisman Neymar Jr. This was also his first goal in this year’s World Cup after his unfortunate injury in the first game which forced him to miss the remaining group stage matches.

Richarlison scored Brazil’s third goal in the 28th minute after he found himself with the ball in front of the goal after a beautiful team play. The fourth goal came only six minutes later this time being scored by Lucas Paqueta.

South Korea managed to get a deserved consolation goal in the 76th minute as Paik Seung-ho slotted the ball past Brazil keeper Allison.

The Brazilians will now look ahead to their crucial quarter final tie against 2018 runners up Croatia.

A total of 1,600 trees have been planted as part of a joint initiative between Parks Malta and Puttinu Cares.

The trees have been planted thanks to donations given during Puttinu Cares’ Good Friday fundraising marathon, with the public being given the opportunity to donate to the charity organisation whilst contributing to the planting of a ‘tribute’ tree to someone close to them.

In a recently-published statement by Puttinu Cares, it was stated that right now is the ideal time to plant such trees, going on to thank Parks Malta and the families, companies, band clubs, friends and others who contributed to the noble cause.

“The projects in England for Maltese & Gozitan patients are possible thanks to your donations.”
