Man involved in Miżieb manhunt denied bail after being charged with attempted murder
Dec 5 2021 Share

The person involved in the six-hour Mellieha manhunt been charged with attempted murder on Saturday afternoon.

24-year-old Aidan Bartolo pleaded not guilty and his bail request was turned down by the courts due to the court lacking confidence in the individual’s possibility of following their conditions. He was also charged with attempt to cause injury, causing injury to police officials, driving dangerously, not obeying the police’s orders and being a recidivist.

On Thursday, it was being reported that the police followed Bartolo’s car towards Mellieha, with Bartolo leaving the car after an intense chance and rushing towards the Mizieb woodland on foot. He was eventually found hiding in the bushes after the 6-hour manhunt. Franco Debono and Francesca Zarb are appearing for the accused and argued that he was charge with ‘disproportionate accusation’, stating that Bartolo did not want to kill the police but escape from them.

He had previously been sent to prison in 2017 after being in possession of 31 sachets of cocaine and again in 2020 after being found guilty of theft.

Forgot to buy gifts? This local online shopping platform has got you sorted!

Forgot to buy gifts? This local online shopping platform has got you sorted!
Dec 4 2021 Share

There’s no shame in admitting that every now and then, buying presents for loved ones absolutely slips your mind. Whether you left till the last minute or completely forgot that you had to buy the present, being empty-handed on the day is absolutely devastating but this Maltese online shopping platform looks to relieve us of those worries.

Appropriately named nsejt.mt, this website provides an extensive range of gifts for all occasions with the added benefit of providing delivery within 24 hours or less, even when shopping beyond normal retail hours. This platform boasts a massive investment in logistics and technology whilst eloquently providing a wide variety of presents at the best value!

Normally, you’d have to pay a pretty penny for last minute purchases due to lack of availability or immediate service but nsejt.mt offers the same price as your average retailer while awarding ‘gift points’ for every purchase which can be redeemed in future discounts. What’s more is that they offer the possibility to ‘meet around the corner’ with the delivery person arriving in casual wear with an unbranded box to make sure that the delivered gift is as discreet as it is convenient…

…and if that wasn’t enough, what truly won us over is the fact that it is entirely sustainable. This platform is opting not to use gift wrapping until a sustainable option is find, all while committing to minimising their carbon footprint, with an electric fleet anticipated to arrive very soon.

Send this to someone who always forgets their presents.
