Brand-New National Record: Malta’s Largest Gingerbread Man

Brand-New National Record: Malta’s Largest Gingerbread Man
Dec 16 2024 Share

The Malta Records recently announced a new national record for the Maltese Islands: The Largest Gingerbread Man.

This follows their earlier announcement of the record attempt, stating that if successful, it would introduce a brand-new category for records related to the Christmas season.

The record was presented yesterday during ‘Il-Pjazza fil-Milied’, a Christmas village set up in Fgura.

Completely made of dough and royal icing, the gingerbread man weighed an impressive 350kg and was 5.26 meters tall and 4.65 meters wide.

Camilleri Caterers worked tirelessly for the four days leading up to the event, spending around 12 hours a day on preparations, even though they had been working on the record for over a month. Yesterday, they managed to assemble the gingerbread man on-site in just two and a half hours.

The Fgura Local Council, along with Camilleri Caterers, were thanked and congratulated for their dedication to such a large-scale project.

Malta Re-features In Nas Daily’s Recent TikTok

Malta Re-features In Nas Daily’s Recent TikTok

Nas Daily’s recent TikTok re-features Malta and it’s all about how Malta’s time is incorrect!

This is technically true, but it is also on purpose. The video explains how in the beautiful streets of Malta, one finds a church in every square kilometer, and with over 350 churches across the Maltese islands, many of them have 2 clocks on their facade.

One clock displays the correct time, whereas the other one shows the wrong time. The idea dates back hundreds of years and the scope of this was to confuse the devil so that mass service isn’t disrupted.
