Man At Risk After Scaffolding Collapse In Tarxien

Yesterday, at around 1600hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in a garage in Triq id-Dejma, Ħal-Tarxien.

Police convened immediately on site and through preliminary investigations showed that a 45 year old man resident of Ħal-Tarxien was injured a scaffolding he was atop whilst working had collapsed.

A medical team were called on site and transported the man to Mater Dei Hospital. He was later certified as having suffered serious injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In an emotional Instagram post, Martin shared, “I will step into the ring for the very last time.”

With his family by his side, he took to social media to bid farewell to the sport that has defined his career, thanking supporters who have been with him every step of the way.

“See you in June for one last dance.” Martin wrote.

Taking to social media, son of ex-England footballer Jamie Carragher, Jamie, spoke about his debut with the Malta National team, describing it as an ‘unbelievable experience.’

‘Unbelievable experience playing against some of the world’s best’, he wrote. ‘Cant wait to do it again in June.’

James joined the Malta team for matches against Finland (at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium) and against Poland, with both matches finishing in losses for Malta.

Malta national football team coach Emilio De Leo revealed that Carragher would be part of the 37 man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP EUROPEAN qualifiers after he obtained his Maltese citizenship.
