Man arrested for infecting 22 people with COVID-19 in Mallorca

Apr 25 2021 Share

A man from Mallorca has been arrested with suspicion of assault after infecting 22 people with COVID-19 by going to work and the gym despite showing symptoms.

Spanish police had been investigating an outbreak in the town of Manacor towards the end of January, with reports of an individual ‘becoming infected but hiding his illness’.

The man not only ignored advice to go home but deliberately lowered his mask to cough and saying “I’m going to infect you all with coronavirus”, eventually infecting a number of colleagues and their family members, including three one-year-old babies, and a number of regulars at his gym.

German gymnasts take stand against sexualisation with full-body suits

Apr 25 2021 Share

During this week’s European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, German gymnast Sarah Voss defied convention by competing in a full-body suit to take a stand against sexualisation in gymnastics.

Voss expressed her satisfaction and support from Germany’s gymnastics federation, with two of her team-mates following suit on Friday.

“We hope gymnasts uncomfortable in the usual outfits will feel emboldened to follow our example,” the gymnast stated.

The German federation said that female athletes should feel comfortable in their clothing at all times, with Dutch Gymnastics welcoming the move, along with a number of other gymnasts and organisations.

Apr 25 2021 Share

The Health Authorities have notified the public of a false vaccine notice which is doing the rounds in social media and advised everyone to ignore the note.

The false notice suggests that a number of health centres are welcoming individuals over 40 to get vaccinated without an appointment over the next 10 days, which has been confirmed to be false.

Citizens over 40 can register for a vaccine appointment by sending an SMS with their ID card number to 9918 0045 or by registering online.

Malta surpassed the 300,000 vaccine mark on Thursday as it continues to administer the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

Mindhunter may return for third series

Mindhunter may return for third series
Apr 24 2021 Share

The short-lived thriller series Mindhunter may be coming back for a third instalment after having ended back in 2019 after just two seasons. According to Small Screen, both executive producer David Fincher and Netflix are in talks to bring back the series for a third season. Many fans will be very excited to see Holden Ford, Bill Tench and Wendy Carr back together, but for now we all have to work with preliminary discussions.

The series had run for two seasons from 2017 to 2019 before being put on indefinite hiatus. Netflix announced in January 2020 that the cast was released form their contracts, marking an end. Fincher wanted to focus on other projects, and thus didn’t want to hold the actors captive. But an investigation of what the third season might be like is now possible, and we may be getting the continuation we deserve after all!
