Village feasts off the table for summer 2021, authorities confirm

May 14 2021 Share

The Health Authorities have confirmed that for another year, the traditional village feasts we know and love will not be taking place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This unfortunate news had already been hinted at during a recent health conference addressed by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, where Malta’s Authorities were to meet with the Church to discuss the matter.

That said, reports from multiple news outlets highlighted that local health authorities will be insisting that during summer 2021, no feasts or mass activities take place as they would put Malta & Gozo’s vaccination programme in jeopardy.
