MAM, disappointed as they suspect vaccinations could take up to 3 years

The Medical Association of Malta has expressed its disappointment towards the rate that vaccinations are being administered for COVID-19.

MAM showed alarm and concern at the target of 5,000 vaccinations per week.

That would mean that the vaccination of all Maltese citizens would take around 3 years.

Cooling technology for vaccine transportation to be applied by Maltese researchers

Maltese researchers have been working on a form of cooling technology aimed to be used for the transportation of COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccine needs to be stored in extremely low temperatures. The technology needs to be kept cool at all times as well in order to be able to function well.

The research team is now in a partnership with New Energy Ltd.

148 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 111 recoveries

Malta has registered 148 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,915 swab tests, while 111 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

From yesterday’s cases; 17 cases were family members of previously known cases, 4 cases were contacts of positive work colleagues, 2 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 5 cases were from social gatherings with other positive cases

To date, Malta has registered 13,230 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 11,386 have recovered, 222 died and 1,622 are still active.

Bond Girl and That ’70s Show star dies at age 65

Tanya Roberts, former Bond Girl and That ‘70s Show star, dies at the age of 65.

Roberts collapsed on Christmas Eve and was taken to hospital. Her death was not COVID-related but the cause is as of yet unknown.
