The iconic Trevi Fountain in Rome, which sees many tourists visiting and tossing coins into the water, saw its water turn black following a climate protest.

Seven young activists from the ‘Ultima Generazione (Last Generation)’ protested climate change by jumping into the foundation holding placards saying ‘We won’t pay for fossil fuels’ and shouting ‘our country is dying.’

This prompted police to jump into the water themselves to escort the activists as tourists hurled insults at the protesters.

The group is calling for an end to public subsidies for fossil fuels, linking the protests to deadly floods which hit the northern region of Emilia-Romagna in recent days.

Despite the motives of the protestors, many public officials condemned the protest, with Rome’s mayor Roberto Gualtieri taking to Twitter to state: ‘Enough of these absurd attacks on our artistic heritage.’

Sabrina praised for making her mental health a priority

Sabrina praised for making her mental health a priority
May 22 2023 Share

Viewers of Love Island Malta were absolutely baffled yesterday after one of the most beloved contestants, Sabrina, decided to leave the villa.

With herself and many of the other islanders in tears, Sabrina explained how this was an immensely difficult decision to make but that it had to be taken for various reasons.

First, the abandonment of her daily routine proved too much for her and leading her to not feel ‘100%’. She also said that she wanted to give the others space to create more connections between each other and the incoming bombshells.

This received massive praise by viewers of the show, who praised Sabrina for being able to speak about and prioritise her mental health, even on live television.

They also pointed out how it was already very difficult for her from the get-go, being the oldest competitor with quite an age gap.

Sabrina is 33-years-old, with the oldest male competitor being Nate at 29. Her match Kyle, with whom she coupled at the beginning of the programme, was 26. Despite this, they became one of, if not the most favourite couple in the villa.
