Maltese zoo owner enraged over new rules on touching animals

Anton Cutajar, owner of L-Arka Ta’ Noe in Siggiewi took to Facebook Live to articulate his sentiments again the proposed change in animal welfare rules.

The zoo owner protested against the proposed change in legislation prohibiting the public from touching wild animals.

Cutajar claimed that the new rules were part of an “agenda against him” as they affect his business considerably. He appealed to the public to sign a petition which allowed the touching and neutering of tigers.

142 new cases of COVID-19 & 52 recoveries in the past 24 hours

Malta has registered 142 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,404 swab tests, while 52 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

Today’s cases are still being investigated. From yesterday’s cases; 46 cases were family members of previously known cases, 18 cases were contact of positive work colleagues and 3 cases were from Paceville. 9 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases and 4 cases were from social gatherings with other positive cases.

To date, Malta has registered 4,628 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 3,236 have recovered, 45 died and 1,347 are still active.

Alternattiva Demokratika & Partit Demokratiku officially merge to create new political party

Following general meetings held by both parties, Alternattiva Demokratika and Partit Demokratiku have now officially merged to become one political party to be known as ADPD.

The party celebrates ecological and progressive beliefs with eco-awareness, social justice, sustainability, diversity, democracy and a number of other values as its fundamental principles.

The party’s managing committee includes former AD leader Carmel Cacopardo as Chairperson and Ralph Cassar as Secretary General.

Further details on Caruana Galizia case; Muscat family offered hush money

Recent developments in the Caruana Galizia murder case have revealed that the family of murder suspect Vince Muscat were offered hush money to stagnate or potentially stop further implications of the bomb supplier.

Muscat, also known as ‘il-Koħħu’ revealed the names of two alleged gang members who had supplied the assassins with the explosive device. It was also revealed that the initial plan was to shoot Caruana Galizia through her window from a high vantage point.
