More successes for Maltese athletes and sport wonders as San Giljan ASC’s player Andreas Galea is set to head off to Italy for an international run. An agreement to join Serie A2 side Lavagna has been reached, with the well established waterpolo player taking his skill to the next level to international waters (literally!). The 25-year-old will play for the Italian side in the winter season as they compete in the Serie A2 Girone Nord League.
In a statement, San Giljan ASC stated that in the coming days, the senior player will be joining the Italian team to continue his stellar career. They wished the homegrown player the best of luck and expressed that he will surely make the team proud. Galea has received countless wins with San Giljan during the last seven seasons. He won three league titles and six knock-out competitions. This is Galea’s second run with a foreign club following his first run in Serbia with Dunav Novi Sad.
We wish Andreas a massive good luck!
