Maltese Ultra-Triathlete to cycle Sicily coastline for animal charities

Fabio Spiteri, the Maltese Ultra-Triathlete well-known for his great feats of endurance, plans to cycle around Sicily’s coastline in aid of animal charities.

Spiteri plans to take on the circa 1,000km challenge to raise at least €30,000 for multiple animal organisations around Malta, a cause which he is very passionate about.

Poland abortion ruling “a sad day for women’s rights”

The court of Poland has ruled that foetal defects no longer constitute cases of abortion.

The Constitution Tribunal’s already-tight restrictions, paired with the latest ruling, almost totally rules out abortion in Poland. The only cases where it is permissible is in cases of incest, rape or when the mother’s health is at risk.

The European commissioner for human rights, Dunja Mijatović, called it a “sad day for women’s rights”, sounding off against the ruling on Twitter.

Removing the basis for almost all legal abortions in #Poland amounts to a ban & violates #HumanRights. Today’s ruling of the Constitutional Court means underground/abroad abortions for those who can afford & even greater ordeal for all others. A sad day for #WomensRights.

Sharing a snapshot of her snuggling with her newborn, Jessie, 33, confirmed that she had managed to get a quick photo of her son before he was taken to the neonatal unit. “We are currently in the neo natal unit but he’s a strong boy and it’s the safest place for him right now,” she told her followers.
