Conor McGregor is poised to make his return to the octagon after a hiatus of nearly three years. Scheduled to take place at UFC 303 in Las Vegas on June 29, McGregor will face off against Michael Chandler, an esteemed competitor in the sport.

The former two-weight champion, McGregor, aged 35, last competed in July 2021, having encountered defeat in his preceding two matches. The confirmation of the welterweight clash with Chandler, an American athlete, came subsequent to UFC 300 in Las Vegas, which unfolded last Saturday.

With a professional record of 22 victories and six defeats in his MMA career, McGregor’s adversary, the 37-year-old Chandler, boasts a record of 23 wins and 8 losses. McGregor’s recent absence from the ring stemmed from an injury sustained during his bout against Poirier in July 2021, where he suffered a leg fracture.

Prior to this setback, McGregor faced defeat via second-round stoppage in a rematch against Poirier six months earlier. Since achieving the milestone of becoming the UFC’s inaugural simultaneous two-weight champion in 2016, McGregor has secured victory only once.

Chandler’s transition from Bellator to the UFC in 2021 has seen him partake in compelling matchups, notwithstanding three losses out of five bouts. Notable among these defeats were encounters with former champion Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Poirier.

Life Network Foundation and Doctors for Life have formally written to the Prime Minister of Malta to urge the government to affirm Malta’s sovereignty over abortion laws.

They emphasize the importance of respecting the principle of subsidiarity and the Treaty of Accession of Malta to the European Union, which grants Malta the right to maintain authority over abortion legislation independent of EU treaties.

The letter calls on the Maltese government to declare its opposition to the inclusion of abortion as a human right in the Charter of Human Rights of the European Union, particularly in response to a recent resolution passed by the European Parliament on this issue.

The aim is to ensure that Malta retains full control over its laws concerning abortion to protect the rights of mothers and unborn babies, safeguarding national sovereignty in this critical matter.
