Duncan Micallef has made his name known yet again, this time setting a new European speed record at the Scandinavian Internationals at the Tierp Arena which is considered as an official round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship.
The Maltese racer managed to produce another world beating performance as he continues on trying to capture his second ever FIA European Drag Racing Championship crown.
Micallef surged to pole position with an incredible record breaking time of 3.79 seconds, reaching an astonishing speed of 321.4 miles per hour.
His performance surpassed the previous European record of 321.01 mph, set by Finland’s Ida Zetterstrom.
Duncan Micallef’s final time of 3.79 second was also 0.10 seconds faster than the previous European record held by Zetterstom.
Micallef who is also the head of the Malta Motorsport Federation was also recently elected chair of FIA’s Drag Racing Commission, highlighting not only his skills but his knowledge and experience of drag racing.
