Maltese public will be offered vaccine by start of May

Health Minister Chris Fearne has said that the public can expect to receive appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations by the end of April or the beginning of May.

Fearne also stated that this would mean that our island would receive herd immunity by the end of summer.

Boris Johnson announces national lockdown until mid-February

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has just announced a national lockdown in England in light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

Johnson addressed the country in a brief TV conference where he highlighted the dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases and appealed to the public to remain at home.

This new lockdown, which is set to last until mid-February where hopefully, most vulnerable citizens will have taken the vaccine.

Scotland is going into full lockdown as from midnight tonight

First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has announced a lockdown for most of Scotland as from midnight tonight.

This means that as from midnight there will be a legal requirement for people to stay at home for the remainder of January in Level 4 areas. (This covers mainland Scotland and Skye).
