The Malta Premier League has announced a record-breaking UEFA solidarity payment of €2,356,000, which will be equally distributed among the 12 teams competing in Malta’s top division.
The clubs receiving the payment are Birkirkara, Floriana, Hibernians, Hamrun Spartans, Sliema Wanderers, Gzira United, Balzan Youths, Melita, Naxxar Lions, Marsaxlokk, Zabbar St. Patrick’s, and Mosta.
Each team will receive €196,333, marking the largest solidarity payment ever given to Maltese clubs by UEFA. This amount more than doubles the €1.08 million solidarity distributed to clubs last year.
In a show of unity, all 12 Premier League clubs have pledged to donate a total of €293,400 to the clubs in the Challenge League. Each of these clubs will contribute €24,450, further reinforcing their commitment to solidarity within the Maltese football community.
