Maltese Liverpool Fans Celebrate Carabao Cup Win

As the victory of Liverpool against Chelsea was announced, videos of Maltese Liverpool fans showed the local jubilation as the Carabao Cup was won. 

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hailed his team’s Carabao Cup final triumph over Chelsea as the “most special trophy” of his career.

This marked Klopp’s 10th trophy as Liverpool’s manager, achieved at Wembley with a late winning goal by captain Virgil van Dijk. The victory secured Liverpool’s 10th EFL Cup title, a record for the club. 

Despite numerous injuries sidelining key players like Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, Liverpool’s youthful lineup demonstrated remarkable resilience. 

Klopp expressed immense pride in the team’s character and performance, emphasizing their deserving victory. Van Dijk, reflecting on his winning goal and Liverpool’s collective effort, underscored the significance of the victory for the fans and the club. 

He expressed hope for further success in the season ahead. The match showcased both teams’ intensity and Liverpool’s ability to overcome adversity, leaving Klopp and his players elated and hopeful for future achievements.

A video, recorded by the motorcyclist’s camera, shows a car speeding by as the motorcyclist stops to wait for a Tallinja bus to drive out of the bus terminal. 

The car zooms right past the bus, the motorcycle as well as the car driving on the opposite lane.

A video sent to this newsroom shows a car being battered by strong waves whilst parked in Ċirkewwa, South Quay. 

Strong waves flooded the land mass, covering the car almost up to its midpoint in water.

68.3% Of Locals Speak To Their Kids In Maltese

In a new survey by Vincent Marmara on the State of the Maltese language and commissioned by the ‘Ċentru tal-Ilsien Malti’ headed by Norma Saliba, it was found that, out of 600 interviewed persons, 68.3% said that they use the Maltese language with their children under 18.

15.9% said that they speak to their children in English, whereas another 15.9% said that they use both languages. 

More men speak using Maltese (76.5%) than women (62%), with the age group of 46 and over being slightly more likely to speak in Maltese (68.6%) than the 26 to 45 age group at 68.1%). 

The majority of respondents also said that their kids know both Maltese and English (56.3%) 

The younger the parents, the more likely that they said that their children understand only English at 24.3%. 

Meanwhile, 17.5% said that their kids only understand Maltese, whereas 5.5% said they understand other languages.
