Maltese Graffiti Artist Debuts New Art For Christmas

Upcoming young Maltese graffiti artists Glenn Cauci has well and truly made his stamp on the local scene.

During these festive holidays Cauchi completed a Christmas inspired art work in Sliema, featuring the iconic Sid the Sloth from the Ice Age movie franchises.

In the art piece Sid is depicted wearing a festive Santa Clause hat whilst holding two presents, highlighting the joyous period of Christmas time.

Several of Cauchi’s other works also feature other iconic animated characters such as Goku from Dragon Ball Z, Bowser from the Super Mario Bros video games and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This year is also not the first time that Cauchi decided to work on a Christmas themed graffiti. Last year Glenn and a friend of his also painted a wall in Sliema with the notorious Christmas character, The Grinch.

Everything Set For Valletta NYE Celebrations

Valletta is set to ring in 2025 in grand style with Malta’s largest end-of-year event taking place tomorrow in St George’s Square.

During a press conference today, Minister for National Heritage, the Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici, Valletta Cultural Agency Chairman Jason Micallef, and Valletta Mayor Olaf McKay shared the latest details about this highly anticipated celebration, which is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees.

The evening’s entertainment will feature performances by top local artists, including Ira Losco, The Red Electric, Shaun Farrugia, and Kevin Paul.

The highlight of the event will be a show-stopping performance by international sensation CASCADA, famous for global hits such as Evacuate the Dancefloor and Everytime We Touch.

At midnight, a grand fireworks display over the Grand Harbour will mark the start of 2025. Throughout the evening, presenters Dorianne Mamo, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Owen Bonnici, and Keane Cutajar, alongside DJs Koroma, Miggy, and D-REY, will keep the crowd entertained with music, stage effects, and vibrant energy.

Organized by G7 Events in collaboration with the Valletta Cultural Agency and supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, this celebration promises an unforgettable start to the new year.

5 People Charged Over Liam Payne’s Death

Five individuals have been charged in connection with the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne, who tragically fell from a third-floor balcony of the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16 2024. The 31-year-old musician’s final days have been under investigation by Argentinian authorities.

The charges include manslaughter for hotel manager Gilda Martin, hotel employee Esteban Grassi, and Roger Nores, Payne’s friend and business manager. Additionally, hotel workers Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, are facing charges related to drug supply. Authorities have ordered that two of the accused be remanded in custody.

Nores maintained that they had spent time together on the day Payne died and that the singer was “playful and happy” when they parted ways about an hour before the tragic fall.

The investigation continues as the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death remain under scrutiny.
