Last week, Enemalta revealed on social media that their engineers and technicians were working to restore the electiricy supply to all Gozitan localities after a third-party contractor working in Mellieħa damaged the high voltage underground cables supplying the island.
The story prompted some carnival goers in Nadur to dress up as the alleged contractor who caused the power cuts.
A group of five dressed up as Enemalta workers, donning the bright vests and the yellow helmets, accompanied by torches and other equipment.
They also made their intentions known with placards which, through rhyme, explained: ‘We mistakenly cut off all of Gozo’s power. But we still headed to Nadur to party!’
