This past weekend, the Malta Police Force hosted an annual ceremony to honour and present certificates to officers who retired on pension during 2024, after having served for 25+ years.

Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa noted how this past year 2024 recorded the least number of retirements on pension after completing 25 years of service.

This, he said, is a testament to the improved conditions and opportunities within the force.

‘As a token of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to the history of the Malta Police Force, all retired officers are invited to this yearly symbolic event.’

The Association for Abandoned Animals shelter housed 269 animals in 2024 – 265 dogs and 4 cats were found a loving home.

‘This was certainly not an easy thing, considering that most of them came in the worst shape and needing immediate medical care, and that the large majority of them were all large sized ones’, the AAA explained.

AAA shared some photos of the pets at their new homes with their loving owners, to show the big difference this would make in the animals’ lives.
