Limestone Cafe is one of Australia’s iconic Maltese restaurants serving several Maltese descendants in Australia a taste of their Mediterranean home.

Sammut managed to try the traditional pizelli pastizz but unfortunately could not try his favourite ricotta, as they were already sold out.

Nathan also managed to try out some unique pastizzi flavours including potato flavoured and an interesting butter chicken flavoured pastizz.

He also revealed that the restaurant normally also have a Maltese sausage version, something which many Maltese people have cried it out for.

The restaurant also serves a Maltese sausage carbonara topped with Gbejna shavings, a meal which sounds like a Maltese person’s dream.

Feb 15 2025 Share

“Consent is not permanent and can be withdrawn at any time,” emphasised the Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms, Rebecca Buttigieg, during an event organised as part of the campaign by the Commission on Gender-Based Violence at the University of Malta.

Organised by the Commission on Gender-Based Violence, the campaign aims to raise awareness and reinforce the message that love should never cause harm.

Launched by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Equality and Reforms, the campaign highlights the importance of consent in everyday life, particularly in intimate relationships. Its goal is to inform the public about the significance of clear, mutual agreement in all interactions.

A Valentine’s Day discussion with University of Malta students was a key event. Students and academics explored topics such as communication, respect, and personal choice in intimate, social, and digital contexts.

Themed “Let’s Talk About Consent,” the session featured insights from Samantha Pace Gasan, Commissioner for Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence. Participants discussed the principles of consent, the need for respectful communication, and the consequences of ignoring consent.

Building on past initiatives like the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, this effort promotes awareness to ensure dignity and choice are upheld without coercion or abuse. Parliament members were also encouraged to support measures against gender-based and domestic violence.

Ikla bi Mħabba Brings Joy to Elderly at San Vinċenz De Paul

Feb 15 2025 Share

Over 85 elderly residents at San Vinċenz De Paul enjoyed a heartwarming meal in an event designed to foster joy and togetherness in their home.

The initiative, inspired by Dr Lydia Abela, mirrors her Christmas project Rigal bi Mħabba for children and now extends to seniors on Valentine’s Day.

Dr Abela collaborated with MasterChef Malta contestants Andrew Debattista, Nicholas Bartolo, Florina Silvio, and Ian Agius, along with San Vinċenz management, to create a nutritious and varied menu.

With performances by singers Glen Vella and Jasmine Abela, Ikla bi Mħabba offered a few hours of entertainment to residents, including those who rarely receive visitors and may experience loneliness.

Dr Abela highlighted Malta’s values of love and compassion. “Our message today is that we must support, uplift, and bring joy to one another,” she stated.

The elderly expressed their gratitude, noting they had not expected to enjoy themselves so much.

This was the first edition of Meal with Love, with plans for it to become an annual tradition, reaching even more seniors in the years to come.
