The National Animal Rights Day is soon here.
Organized by the non-profit Our Planet. Theirs Too., NARD is intended to show the public first-hand the results of our society’s brutal treatment of animals and to commemorate the billions of animals who are killed every year in the world, for food, their fur, skins, laboratory tests, and entertainment.
Local animal lovers and liberators will gather on Sunday 4th June at 1800hrs in Valletta to commemorate the day in events held in over 150 major cities worldwide.
Los Angeles, Phoenix, Berkeley, Toronto, London, Paris, Hong Kong and many more cities will be joining in the protest.
‘In a visually shocking display, the activities will start with a public requiem Ceremony in which individuals will stand in unified formation cradling the pictures of animals who died because of human abuse and exploitation.’
‘These posters, including chickens, pigs, cats, dogs, goats, birds, and many others, will then be arranged on the side as a tomb by the participating activists.’
The Declaration of Animal Rights, a 100-foot long scroll, will be unveiled, proclaimed and signed during the protest, bearing the signatures of thousands from all over the world.
‘After the Ceremony, there will be the Celebration of the significant steps that have been made towards ending the suffering of animals and adopting a non-violent lifestyle, speeches, and live music.’
The entire event is open for the public.
