Maltese National Football Player and Notts County FC Winger Jodi Jones, has been honoured as the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season at the 2024 EFL Awards.
This year, Jones achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new record with 24 assists, surpassing the previous highest in an English season, which stood at 20 assists held by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry. His remarkable performance earned him a nomination alongside Elliot Lee from the newly-promoted Wrexham and Davis Keillor-Dunn from Mansfield.
At the awards ceremony, Jones was not the only highlight; Macaulay Langstaff also received significant recognition. Langstaff was named in the League Two Team of the Season with Jones and currently tops the scoring charts in the division with 26 goals, the most in elite English football this season.
In addition to his club successes, Jodi Jones has also had a notable journey with the Malta National Football team. Since joining the national squad, Jones has become an integral part of the team, likely taking centre stage next September as Malta aims for promotion at the UEFA Nations League against Moldova and Andorra.
