Malta’s First Participation In Locked Shields 2025

Jun 19 2025 Share

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) took part in a very important event called Locked Shields 2025. This event is the biggest and most challenging live cyber defence exercise in the world. It is like a practice game where teams from many countries work together to stop cyber attacks.

Two officers from the AFM joined the Maltese team in this event. Each officer had a different job to do. They worked hard to protect computers and networks from cyber threats. These threats are bad actions done by hackers who try to break into important systems.

Other parts of the Maltese government also took part in this exercise. It showed how different teams can work together to keep the country safe from cyber dangers.

Taking part in Locked Shields helps the AFM get better at stopping cyber attacks. It also helps them learn new ways to protect Malta’s computer systems. This is very important because many things now depend on technology.

The AFM’s involvement shows their strong promise to improve their skills and be ready to face any cyber threat. It makes Malta safer and stronger in the digital world.

The exercise was a big success, and the AFM officers gained valuable experience. This will help them keep Malta’s cyber space safe in the future.
