Malta with the highest reduction of COVID-19 cases out of EU countries

The last week saw Malta being the country with the highest number of COVID-19 reductions of all European Union countries, with a reduction of about 27%. Malta seems to be experiencing the exact opposite of other EU countries which are seeing an increase in COVID-19 vases, with some going over the 30% mark of case increase.

The highest increase of cases was in Iceland, with an almost 90% influx, followed by Croatia, Ukraine, Belgium, Poland and France. Malta’s Health Minister Chris Fearne took to Twitter to remind everyone to remain observant of the mitigations and thanking all those who are cooperating with vaccination and observing measures.

Dingli protests continue as Infrastructure Malta push with construction

It seems that the clash between Infrastructure Malta and Moviment Graffiti continues as IM contractors attempt to commence waterworks through a separate road than that activists are currently camping in. This marks the third day the protesters are on site protesting the land development. Dingli local council gave the unanimous support of the works on Tuesday, broadcasted live from Minister Ian Borg’s FaceBook page.

Reason for Minister’s admission to Mater Dei revealed to be accidental overdose on legal substances

Following the report of Education Minister Justyne Caruana’s sudden admission to Mater Dei hospital, it has been revealed that the reason behind said admission is due to an overdose on legal substances.

The Government has reported that the minister is currently in stable condition and will remain at Mater Dei Hospital for the time being to be kept under observation.

The Department of information has stated that Caruana is currently ‘recovering’ since previous reports.

Ramiro Mallia sadly passes away

Ramiro Mallia sadly passed away on 23rd March 2021 due to a gas leakage from a heater. The news shocked the whole of Malta as friends and family of a youth described as loving and exemplary expressed their utter disbelief at the news. Puttinu cares took to FaceBook as well to express their grief and condolences.

They revealed how Ramiro had beaten cancer when he had just been 3-years-old, only to pass away at just 19 years of age. Puttinu Cares described Ramiro as full of love and always eager to volunteer in every marathon. Ramiro, from Qormi, was given first aid but sadly died shortly at Mater Dei hospital. Rest in Peace Ramiro.
