1 In 4 Young Adults Don’t Want Kids Due To Finances

A growing number of millennials and Gen Z are choosing to remain child-free, with financial concerns being the primary reason.

A recent survey by MassMutual in the US found that nearly 1 in 4 young adults aged 18 to 43 without children plan to stay childless due to the rising cost of raising kids.

Beyond financial worries, lifestyle preferences also play a role. Many young adults are opting out of parenthood to save for the future, travel, or simply enjoy more flexibility in their lives. This shift has contributed to the U.S. birth rate hitting record lows.

It is unclear whether the overall sentiment tracks in other countries, such as Malta. Would you like to have children?

Occupy Justice Slam Neville Gafa Placing Placards On Galizia Memorial

Occupy Justice Slam Neville Gafa Placing Placards On Galizia Memorial

Occupy Justice has condemned Neville Gafà’s actions after he placed placards at the makeshift memorial for murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in Valletta.

Gafà claimed he was exercising his right to free speech by posting placards that highlighted issues from Caruana Galizia’s past, including news stories on domestic violence charges and a VAT repayment.

He argued that the memorial was a “symbol of free speech” and said his actions were a test to see “how well activists can respect other people’s freedom of expression.”

Occupy Justice responded sharply, describing Gafà’s actions as nothing more than “a petty, attention-seeking stunt” aimed at vilifying Caruana Galizia even after her death.

The group wrote how Gafà reportedly stalked Caruana Galizia the day before she was killed and accused him of continuing to act with impunity, protected by his “puppet-masters.”

They labeled him “a small man” who had once been implicated in the Libyan visa scandal but had yet to face justice.

The group expressed frustration, stating Gafà’s actions demonstrate how little has changed in Malta since Caruana Galizia’s assassination seven years ago.

They questioned what the Prime Minister thought of a political operative denigrating a murdered journalist on the eve of the anniversary of her death, calling Gafà’s behaviour “pathetic” and irrelevant.

Kylian Mbappé, the Real Madrid star, is under investigation for rape following a visit to Stockholm, according to Swedish newspaper Expressen.

The report claims that the police consider Mbappé “reasonably suspected” of rape, a lower degree of suspicion under Swedish law.

However, Mbappé has strongly denied the allegations, calling the news “fake” and linking it to his ongoing dispute with former club Paris Saint-Germain over unpaid wages, which he claims amount to €55 million.

Mbappé visited Sweden on October 10 with a group of people, dining at a restaurant and visiting a nightclub before leaving the country.

Aftonbladet, another Swedish outlet, first reported the alleged crime but did not name Mbappé. In response to the accusations, Mbappé’s team labeled the claims as false and promised legal action against those responsible for spreading defamatory rumours.

Swedish police confirmed they are investigating a crime reported on October 10 but provided no further details.

French coach Didier Deschamps commented on the situation, saying it negatively affects the national team, advising caution before publishing reports that could impact players. Photos of police outside Mbappé’s hotel were published, further fuelling media speculation.
