As per other medals, Georgia Kate Bohl secured silver in the Swimming Women 200m Breastroke, with the Malta Teams securing silver in the Swimming Women 4x200m Relay.

Dylan Cachia won Bronze in the Swimming Men 400m Freestyle and Sasha Gatt won Bronze in the same category for women.

Jake Azzopardi has been made the Chief Executive of the Affordable Accommodation Foundation, the first foundation through which the government and the church will work together to create more opportunities in the accommodation sector.

Azzopardi, who was chosen after a rigorous process through a public call, said that affordability in the sector requires planning in the long term. This planning, Azzopardi said, will be done via the foundation.

‘We are a new actor in the market which will, through innovation, provide new solutions which will reach everyone’s financial status’ he said.

Jake is a lawyer who has, for the past six years, contributed directly in local politics related to accommodation, with particular emphasis on regulation of affordability measures and rent.

Lately, he carried out work in relation to protection of children’s rights in Malta whilst being a principal actor in the introduction of the National Living Income in Malta. He also served as a European Parliament political consultant between 2019 and 2021.

Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes wished all the best for Jake, eager to begin his work with Azzopardi.

Two thirds of jobs that primary school students are studying for don’t even exist anymore

Two thirds of jobs that primary school students are studying for don't even exist anymore

During a recent interview at PwC’s Tech Week, the importance of technology and STEM subjects general in the world of employment was discussed.

The central focus of Tech was innovation & digitisation, and how these phenomena make our lives better as employees, parents and individual.

One of PwC’s recent studies revealed how two out of three jobs that primary students would be doing in the future do not even exist anymore. It was argued that, rather than restricting children with a typical mindset towards traditional jobs like doctors and lawyers, which will still remain relevant, children should be guided to be open towards new subjects.

Developments in the technological world continue to make a huge difference and impact on society, and moreover, the business community in general.

The PwC Tech Week is an entire week dedicated to the idea of technological innovation being used in all facets of business to ensure organisations are up-to-date and future-proof, and that insights and outcomes are more intelligent and quicker to define winning strategies.
