The heatwave has prompted weather warnings across several Mediterranean countries. According to local weather source It-Temp Madwarna, the Azores anticyclone is extending into the Mediterranean. This high-pressure system is bringing with it stable weather conditions and persistently high temperatures.
Malta is in for a hot start to July, with high temperatures expected all week. Malta International Airport forecasts that it will feel as hot as 35°C by Thursday.
