Life Network Foundation has launched a new initiative to provide ongoing support for mothers and their toddlers after leaving Dar Tgħanniqa Ta’ Omm, a maternity home offering 24-hour support for pregnant women and newborns for up to a year.

The Residential Home Units offer a secure environment, enabling women to work or pursue education. First Lady of Malta, Mrs. Miriam Vella, will inaugurate the units on March 13, 2024.

The project is made possible by the Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja charity, providing six units in Santa Venera, with plans for seven more across Malta.

On Women’s Day 2024, Life Network celebrates its support for 120 women through its pregnancy helpline, the Id f’Id Centre for baby supplies, and Dar Tgħanniqa Ta’ Omm, where 42 women lived with their newborns post-birth.

These units and Life Network’s assistance empower mothers to pursue work or studies for up to three years, fostering independence and safety.

Christie Gellel of Dar Tgħanniqa Ta’ Omm praises the initiative’s support, while Dr. Miriam Sciberras, CEO of Life Network Foundation, emphasizes their commitment to empowering women as they navigate motherhood and independence.

Unfortunately, Julia was rushed to hospital the day of the concert and passed away that evening.

‘How lovely it was to meet you’, wrote Maxine in honour of Julia. ‘Chatting about musicals and Harry Potter. A beautiful and incredibly sharp girl. May you be free of any pain and suffering.’
