Alex Borg Addresses Marsalforn Fight

Alex Borg Addresses Marsalforn Fight
Jun 28 2023 Share

According to talk.mt, a fight broke out in Marsalforn at around 1730hrs between more than 6 people.

Sources informed talk.mt that at around 1600hrs a Romanian man started to check tables situated outside establishments and claimed to be checking for permits.

It was reported that the man had no permits to do so, but claimed to be doing so due to him ‘being a friend of a chief executive’. A police officer intervened, with the Romanian allegedly saying that ‘I’ll get a gun tonight and kill all of them”.

The officer asked for assistance but a fight broke out before more officers could intervene. It is unknown whether any arrests took place but the situation was controlled immediately.

This prompted a response by PN MP Alex Borg, who said that ‘respect goes both ways. You give respect, you receive respect.’

‘Anyone who uses arguments of racism and xenophobia over a lack of respect is only causing confusion’ said the MP. ‘It’s simple. You respect the laws of a country and you’re very welcome. If not, your place is not here.’
