360Sports has become the new naming rights partner of the Malta Premier, marking the largest private sponsorship deal in Maltese sports history. This morning, the partnership and the league’s new emblem, featuring the Maltese falcon at its centre, were unveiled to the media.
The three-year sponsorship reflects 360Sports’ confidence in the revamped Malta Premier, chosen for the international debut of its upcoming fan engagement services.
Premier League Limited Chairman Alan Abela commented that, with this and other deals, the 360Sports Malta Premier now boasts sponsorship revenues totalling around €1 million for the period, representing an 800% increase. “This demonstrates the business community’s confidence in the league’s new attitude, leadership, and format. The driving force behind the league’s financial success from its first edition is Malta Premier League Chairman Joseph Muscat, who has worked tirelessly to attract unprecedented national and international commercial interest in Maltese football,” said Mr. Abela.
Franz Josef Cauchi, Director of 360Sports Malta, expressed, “We are honoured to become the title partner of the country’s elite football competition, a league with a rich history and passionate fan base. Our CEO, Nasib Piriyev, envisioned Malta as the international home for 360Sports, and this sponsorship aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance sports entertainment and fan engagement globally. We look forward to collaborating with the Malta Premier League and its clubs to bring new and exciting experiences to the fans.”
He added, “Our fan engagement platform enhances the football experience through content, social interactions, gaming, and sports data. This partnership will revolutionize how fans connect with the game and propel the Malta Premier to new heights in digital engagement. We aim to make a significant impact on the Maltese sports community.”
The 360Sports logo has been incorporated into the new Malta Premier emblem, selected through a public call and adapted accordingly. In a first, the emblem, featuring the Maltese falcon, will be worn on the sleeve of every team competing in the league.
The 2024/25 season will be the first organized by Premier League Limited, a joint venture between the Malta Premier League and the Malta Football Association. It will feature a new Latin American-style format with Opening and Closing rounds, playoffs, and finals. This upcoming season is considered a transition period, with more innovations expected.
The fixtures for the 360Sports Malta Premier Opening Round will be drawn next Wednesday.
