The phrase ‘top G’ stands for ‘top gangster’, a common name for Tate and in reference to someone deemed ‘respectable.’ The protest seems to be in direct response to the Romanian government’s ongoing investigation of the Tate brothers.

The brothers are set to be detained in jail for 30 days during the investigation as their most recent appeal to be released was denied. Despite the investigation, Tate continue to post on Twitter to is 4.6 million followers.

Tate made various conspiratorial claims that ‘the Matrix’ is responsible for his arrest, claims even his lawyer Eugen Vidineac dismissed.
