Malta Nationalist Party reveals shadow cabinet

The Malta Nationalist Party has revealed its new shadow cabinet. A number of MP’s have retained their previous roles and portfolios, like Robert Arrigo and Stephen Spiteri.

Former PN leader, Adrian Delia has refused to take on a spokesperson role within the shadow cabinet.

This shadow cabinet reshuffle happened within Bernard Grech’s first 100 days as Nationalist Party Leader.

Daniel Micallef opens up about his support for euthanasia after losing his father

Daniel Micallef who is currently the Deputy Leader of Party Affairs, within the Malta Labour Party opened up to the Times of Malta about his support of euthanasia.

Daniel had lost his father to a terminal illness and after watching him suffer tremendously he thought about the fact that if it were to be him, who was in a similar position he’d want the option to decide what to do with his life and his body.

Recently, Prime Minister Robert Abela brought the issue to light and said that it deserves proper national discussion.

In Malta, Euthanasia is punishable by up to 12 years imprisonment.

187 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 189 recoveries

Malta has registered 187 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,879 swab tests, while 189 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Tuesday 19th January 2021, 14,276 vaccine doses were administered.

To date, Malta has registered 16,129 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 13,054 have recovered, 244 died and 2,831 are still active.

‘Lupin’ surpasses ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ views on Netflix!

The Netflix-produced, Lupin series will have been watched by over 70 million views within the first month of its release. This sets the records for the most views of a French TV show.

Lupin has topped recent release and blockbuster, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ which had 63 million views. Netflix projects these numbers to be reached by the 5th of February.
