Minister Bartolo stated that the pandemic was the opportune moment for the government and MTA to strengthen Malta’s touristic product whilst Bojen stated that such a certification has the potential to bring Americans to Malta, a tourism market which is considered to be the best in the world.

'Malta must tackle bullying'; says MP in light of Texas school massacre
May 26 2022 Share

After Wednesday’s horrific Texas elementary school massacre, which left at least 19 children dead, Labour MP Malcolm Paul Agius Galea took to parliament to express that Malta must tackle its bullying on all levels.

Agius Galea revealed a childhood bullying experience of his own, saying that children would gang up on him as he left catechism (mużew). He recounted that it was a random man that came and stopped the children from hitting him that allowed him to escape.

Turning to the Texas shooting, the MP highlighted how Ramos was bullied due to his speech impediment and troubled background. He made a comparison to the Texas shooter, stating “We were two victims, but two extremities. I moved forward in life and am here today, but the other victim fell backwards.”

Agius Galea sustained that the bullying issue must be tackled, going on to propose a national campaign against solitude, since it one of the main issues behind mental health problems.
