
During a recent parliamentary session, it was revealed that Malta recorded 28 suicides in 2024, with 25 of the victims being men.
The figures were disclosed by Minister for Home Affairs, Security, Reforms and Equality, Byron Camilleri, in response to a question from PN MP Graziella Attard Previ.
Camilleri had previously shared that between 2013 and 2023, 239 Maltese men had died by suicide, highlighting a concerning trend in men’s mental health.
Additionally, former Health Minister Chris Fearne had also previously revealed that from 2013 to 2022, a total of 261 suicides were recorded in Malta.
